Digital Photogrammetric Workstation Digi3D version 2006Digi3D provides a software platform for the utilization of the Digital Photogrammetric Workstation. Six years ago we developed this digital photogrammetric software which became the mostly used in our country and is seen as the Spanish standard. Currently we have over 500 licenses of our product operative in Spain (Universities not included) and overseas (India, Indonesia, Peru, Colombia, Equator,…). Digi3D supports all the modern sensors including Leica ADS40, Vexcel UltraCam D, Intergraph DMC, satellite images (Ikonos, Quickbird), and analogical cameras (close-range and aerial). A visit of our engineers to Leica Geosystems headquarters in San Diego, California, helped us implement successfully the new Leica sensor ADS40 in our software, right now we have the only photogrammetric software in Spain that supports this sensor besides Leica Geosystems. The Digi21 team has customized the digital stereoplotter Digi3D for diverse organizations including government, educational institutions and photogrammetric mapping firms from the private sector. It is an all-in-one application that will easily turn your PC into a digital photogrammetric stereoplotter. It offers all necessary tools to complete any photogrammetric project:
Digi3D has been improved year by year to make its graphical interface intuitive and easy to understand. The close contact and technical support to the customers have helped Digi21 to create a powerful, yet easy to learn system that gives you fast data acquisition, easy editing, flexible graphic output and management. It has been programmed to facilitate the personal setup, and in this way increase production and high performance. The users interface is very intuitive, the user learns fast to operate the program. The graphic display can be set up personally very easily allowing setups for one monitor up to 16 monitors, allowing different screen resolutions and displaying the stereo views in each of them. The users interface is available in Spanish, English and Italian and can be translated into any other language at any time. Stereoscopic Vision and Graphic TechnologyBased on OpenGL technology, Digi3D allows the setup for multiple monitors and visualization devices such us:
Input DevicesDigi3D supports different input devices, including multiple mouse devices where any command can be assigned to the buttons. The user can set up a common computer mouse for XY roaming and a trackball mouse for the Z coordinate, or use a professional 3D mouse device such us ABC Stealth 3D mouse. Handwheel systems are also supported and can be connected to different encoder cards such us (REST1, REST2, REST3, REST4, SEC-232m, FCodic, DPW), joysticks, etc. Supported Image formatsAs input Digi3D accepts different graphic formats, such as TIFF (tiff, with tiles, with or without any type of compression), BMP, JPEG, JPEG 2000, MrSID, ECW, etc. Size is no longer a problem when loading images, the user will be able to load models with sizes up to 4GB in TIFF format or even larger image files from other formats.
OrientationsDigi3D has been adapted to the different sensor types, and such as the new Leica ADS40, Vexcel UltraCamD and Intergraph DMC, these are implemented directly, so the user doesn't have to create the specific camera files. For any other types of sensor the user can generate the camera file specifying the fiducial mark coordinates, the focal length, the principal point of symmetry and radial distortions, also the pixel size in case of digital cameras without meta information. The orientation processes can be completed in different ways:
Aerial Triangulation Measuring and CalculationDuring the aerial triangulation measurements the program will help to locate the homologous point by correlation and by displaying a snapshot of the previously measured point. The program provides the user with the data needed to do the calculation either by bundle block adjustment or independent models. The optional module AEROTRI is used to calculate the aerotriangulation with bundle block adjustment. Robust procedures are used for the automatic detection of incorrect observations (when measuring the photo coordinates, the control points or the GPS data with the approximate projection centres). Digi3D can export and import orientation files or aerotriangulation measurements for the mostly known formats: PatM, PatB, AeroSys, Albany, LH Systems, AU3Win, DIAP, SD2000, ... Digi3D offers an automatic sketch generator, that will generate an HTML file with the information of each Control Point; coordinates and snapshot... allowing to create a support file from the aerotriangulation results for analogue stereoplotters. Supported Graphic File FormatsDigi3D works with its native CAD file format which is the Spanish standard BIN, and can also work directly ,without any file translation, on DGNv8. It can also import and export other file formats such as DGNv7, DXF, Kork with very easy translators. DigiNG as CAD ToolDigiNG is the CAD-Tool fully integrated in Digi3D for the digitizing and editing of cartographic features. DigiNG offers over 300 commands for digitizing and editing of entities. Features are registered as linear (open or closed) and punctual elements. The user can link databases to the cartography and store non graphic attributes. Making the work easier for the operatorSnapping and search modes. The user will be able to choose from 12 different snap modes, this can be 2D and 3D, only snapping on vertex or just projection, searching of the Z of the entity that is being drawn, center of the segment that is being snapped on, ... Automatic Snap mode: Allows to specify the snapping mode for each code that is being registered and the ones that can be snapped on. This allows the user to plot continuously without having to change the snapmode for the different codes. For example: If the user is drawing a contour and he or she needs to snap on a river, the snapmode will be changed automatically to the one that searches for the right point to snap, the one that has the exact same Z coordinate than the contour that is being plotted. Next if the user is still drawing the contour and does a snap to a construction , the snap mode will be automatically changed to the one that searches for vertex or projection in XY, if the user snaps on an other contour to merge two models the snap mode will be changed automatically to the one that snaps on vertex with the same Z coordinate. Digital Terrain Models, Triangulation and DEM with VirtuaLandAutomatic point extraction for the generating of Digital Terrain Models by Correlation Possibility of training of the correlation procedure to avoid extracting points over elevated elements such as independent trees, shadows ... This strategy is executed by a unique algorithm, originally created by our company. The incorrect points get eliminated before generating the triangulation. Digi3D will recognize automatically from which terrain features not to extract any points, with this and a special filter when generating the triangulation, the editing is reduced to the minimum. Creates and displays the triangulation by triangles, virtual contours or points in no time. Allows the rapid detection of not well correlated points through the virtual contours with no need to check and correct the triangulation stereoscopically. Real time modification of the loaded triangulation, the user can add or delete breaklines after having generated the triangulation, and follow the new results with the virtual contour map. Noise reduction when generating the triangulation by special filters. Automatic generation of contour maps with different smoothing factors through splines, cubic splines achieving an output as similar to the one generated manually as it gets. Orthophotos and raster filesDigiNG allows the generation of Orthophotos and the radiometric balancing of the raster files. Orthophotos can be done individually or in batch mode with the Orthobatch module. |
